Description
Mycoplasma culture is a popular and well-established method of detecting mastitis-causing mycoplasma in dairy cattle. However, a significant problem is false positive results caused by Acholeplasma, a non-pathogenic look-alike organism. The PCR-003F kit will determine if colonies tested are Mycoplasma or Acholeplasma, allowing confident herd management. Furthermore, the two most common species Myco. bovis and bovigenitalium are identified. Not all mycoplasma species are equally pathogenic or demand the same management strategies, and this information may be useful in determining the urgency of intervention strategies.
This PCR kit has been pre-mixed, validated, and frozen, and is fully ready to use. Controls are not required when using a ready-to-use kit as they were run at the time of manufacture.
This kit is specifically designed for the CFX96, CFX96 Deep Well, and CFX Opus. It may be incompatible with PCR machines from other manufacturers, including the Chai OpenqPCR and Precigenome Fast 16-6.
